Check out 29 New Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical new set or yet another crossover cash grab? Let you be the judge.

Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. Everything listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which gamers can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior game designer explained. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to ensure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Check them out below:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil land cards
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards showed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular basic lands (for building your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
