Three Lions Squad Announced: Bellingham and Foden Left Out, Saka Makes Comeback
The England manager has chosen to retain the same Three Lions selection that triumphed against Andorra and delivered an impressive performance in Belgrade last month, finding no place for the Real Madrid star and the Manchester City attacker in his group for the forthcoming friendly against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.
Despite Foden making a strong case for a return to the squad after regaining his top condition at his club, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for his Spanish club following shoulder surgery, the head coach has decided against selecting two of the nation's biggest attacking talents. The young midfielder has been in the starting lineup only once for his club since his comeback.
Tuchel has found space for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been restored in place of his unavailable club colleague the sidelined player. Jack Grealish has not received a return to the squad.

Tuchel highlighted the energy in the previous selection and seems intent on maintaining the vibe. Tino Livramento, who featured at the defensive flank in the convincing victory in Belgrade, has dropped out due to a knee injury. Tuchel has opted against selecting a like-for-like substitute for the Magpies star but has included John Stones, who had to withdraw previously. Tuchel has spoken about the Manchester City defender's importance for England and has suggested using him in midfield.
No spot has been found for Adam Wharton, who was selected in the previous squad but withdrew injured and was substituted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Tuchel said: “A mere three weeks since the last camp and the last win, the latest display, so the question was why not bring the identical squad in because they established a benchmark. Now it is about building routines out of it. We have regrettably a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Noni and we welcome of course the Arsenal forward in to take the place of Madueke. The defender was a late call-up previously; he will stay in camp.”
